Filing a complaint
The Secretariat for International Services to the Child (SASIE) deals with complaints about:
- Accredited organizations (AOs)
- SASIE staff members
- SASIE file processing
* Anonymous complaints are not considered.
Your input is important to SASIE both to improve services and to build relationships with all clients. To make sure your voice is heard, the public and partner relations advisor will support and guide you through the procedure. She will treat you with respect and professionalism. Please be assured that your file will be treated fairly and kept confidential.
All members of the SASIE team agree on the importance of service quality and of relationships with the public and our partners. Do not hesitate to raise any concerns you may have with the professional in charge of your file.
Complaints processing
Your complaint will be processed in accordance with the commitments set out in the Service Statement by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux .
Which types of complaints will be referred to other authorities?
After preliminary processing of your complaint, the public and partner relations advisor may refer you to one the following:
- The Québec Ombudsman
if your complaint concerns a decision (e.g., rejection for ineligibility) or a SASIE process (e.g., calling the entirety of the procedure into question)
- Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse
(CDPDJ) if your complaint is about discrimination
- The CISSS (Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux) or CIUSSS (Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux) in charge if the complaint is about a Director of Youth Protection (DYP)
- The person’s professional order, if the complaint concerns an appointee.
